🤢Catharsis ≠ Transformation
Facilitation & Therapy Techniques › Catharsis ≠ Transformation
Sometimes, people think crying = better healing session.
Some therapists / healers measure their worth by their clients’ tears.
It’s a trap. Here’s why:
A. Personality matters
Logical people may cry less, but the reframe still works for them.
I’ve seen lasting positive changes with a single reframe.
B. Tears without context are useless
Crying is a great start.
But crying without reframe is a prison.
If there’s no new perspective, there’s no healing.
The client is just practicing being a victim.
The key is Reframing. After the release, shift how they see the world.
- Show them the perpetrator’s own hurt.
- Show them they’re just copying their parents.
- Show them they’re an adult who control their actions now.
See the emotions, then ensure there’s reframe.
Release without a reframe is just mental masturbation.
