You can’t logic an inner child.

We try to explain away the pain: "Your parents did their best." "Stop holding onto the past."

It never works.

The inner child doesn’t need a theory. It needs a protector. It just wants to be seen and heard:

  • "You've worked so hard."
  • "I see you."
  • “I am here with you.”

A hug often means more.

Logic bounces off an activated nervous system.

Soothe the feeling first.

The mind can process the reframe easily later.
